FDA Authorizes Low-Cost Ventilator

A compact, affordable ventilator developed by the University of Minnesota has been approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The product is called the Conventor, and is designed to fill in for traditional ventilators in various clinical settings.

According to information from the University of Minnesota, the mechanical ventilator is simple to use and is compact, about the size of a cereal box. One advantage is it does not require pressurized oxygen or air supply.
