About Infection Insight

We are in the midst of an unprecedented crisis. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic affecting our world has had drastic consequences. Now more than ever, there is a need to come together as family, friends, communities, states, and nations. We need to stand together during this unbelievable crisis.

Even prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, our society has been plagued by numerous infectious diseases and conditions. Antibiotic resistance is and will continue to be an immense concern.  Similarly, every day, approximately 1 in 31 U.S. patients suffer from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) associated with his or her hospital care. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has noted much progress in the battle against HAIs, it also stresses the need for further prevention efforts.

Now more than ever, the occurrence of infectious diseases in our community and healthcare settings is a large-scale concern.

This website provides specific information about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) virus. In addition, the site presents news and resources about other infectious diseases, super-bugs, antibiotic-resistant supergerms, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and similar infections. Our primary aim is to provide information to keep our society infection-free. Infection prevention is our primary goal!
